DIDSONTM UNIBODY STANDARD and LONG RANGE |
The Unibody fits the analog electronics and digital electronics in one housing below the lens compartment. The Unibody DIDSON comes in three different depth ratings. The 300-m and 1000-m rated housings are made from anodized aluminum. The 3000-m rated housing is made from titanium. See the
1000m and 3000m Deep Models page for information on those units. Shipping crates are included with all sonars.
The 300-m depth rated DIDSON has a rear-facing connector or a forward-facing connector. Almost all customers with fisheries applications mount their DIDSON in shallow water near the river bank and prefer the rear-facing connector. Almost all customers who mount their DIDSON on ROVs or AUVs prefer the forward-facing connector (FFC). The FFC allows the sonar and cable to fit in a smaller space. Typically the cable from the FFC forms a service loop, then connects to an existing pod on the vehicle.
