Sound Metrics Reveals the New ARIS at Oceanology International 2018

3/22/2018
Oceanology International held its 49th ocean technology marine science exhibition and conference at ExCel London from Tuesday, March 17th - Thursday, March 19th. Sound Metrics’ new wave-themed booth stood front and center with a custom-designed tank and full sonar display that was all about the curves.

With more than 520 exhibiting companies from 33 countries in attendance, Sound Metrics received an exceptional amount of traction from visitors and exhibitors alike.

The very popular ARIS Explorer 3000 was deployed in the custom water tank, where visitors got a close up look at targets being imaged, while the sonar data is transmitted in real-time on the curved display monitor. An AR3 Rotator attached to the ARIS enabled the operator to pan, tilt and roll, giving targets a 3D-like perspective. Visitors used the interactive control panel to manipulate the direction of sight through the ARIScope Operating Software.

While the booth was a popular location to See What Others Can't, many headed over to the New Technology Showcase on Wednesday afternoon for the unveiling of Sound Metrics' latest design. President and Co-Founder of Sound Metrics, Joe Burch, revealed the newest product to the ARIS line: the ARIS Voyager 3000.

This titanium shelled sonar allows explorers of all types to survey up to 4000 meters deep, providing higher resolution and image clariety than any other imaging sonar in its class.

Overall, the show was a success. Sound Metrics expects to see more of the same at the next OI event in 2020 and hopes to continue to provide a vast clariety into deep sea exploration.
